Qualitative Payer Research

Altarnum works with clients to provide local nuance and understanding at all phases of the product lifecycle. In qualitative research, we can help optimise the project objectives for local markets, develop questionnaires and stimulus materials in the local language, and interview with a representative sample of key market institutions. In qualitative research, we take great care to protect our respondents' identities.

In line with our inclusive approach, our experienced affiliates in each of the BRICMT countries work with a small number of keynational players, and recruit additional respondents who are best fit for the project objectives. We are able to conduct structured and semi-structured interviews face to face, as well as by telephone or via electronic questionnaires. Our deliverables are typically provided in MS PowerPoint and Word.

Secondary Research

We are able to carry out desk research in the local language in more than 30 markets. This competency is based on personal experience of the local business environment, familiarity with the local media and literature databases, and a sound understanding of the legal framework for healthcare decision-making. We regard secondary research as an essential first step in understanding how the local environment impacts access – for example in HTA agency expectations, international reference pricing, therapeutic reference pricing and procurement regulations. Additionally, we offer quality assurance of secondary market research and bespoke reports on access issues in global healthcare economies.

Altarnum has extensive knowledge of the key market access institutions at local level, with a particular focus on identifying hidden influencers and unexpected policy challenges. Focusing on the reality of getting products into local formularies, we are able to deliver landscaping projects that are tailored to the therapeutic area of interest.
